 Dear ISA Members,  


The ISA has been working closely with many prospective Host Countries in the bidding process for the rights to host future ISA World Championships.   As President of the ISA, I am pleased to announce our lineup of events for the remainder of 2012 and all of 2013.

It is the goal of the ISA to provide as much advance notice as possible of ISA World Championships to all Members, as we understand the planning required for each Member to send a National Team.  Therefore, this outline of events will allow every ISA Member to start preparing now for the next 18 months.

The Official Invitation for each ISA World Championship with the specific details regarding location, team size, equipment specifications, confirmed dates and general event information will be provided to ISA Members as soon as possible.


ISA World Bodyboard Championship

Hainan Wanning Riyue Bay International Surfing Festival

ISA China Cup  (By invitation to the top 8 National Teams, based on results from the 2012 ISA World Juniors)

Hainan Classic, Men’s 6-Star ASP

Wanning, Riyue Bay, China

Mid-to-End of January (exact dates to be confirmed)

ISA World StandUp Paddle and Paddleboard Championship

Miraflores, Lima, Peru

24 February – 2 March

ISA World Masters Surfing Championship 

Montañita, Ecuador

Late March or early April (exact dates to be confirmed)

ISA World Surfing Games (Qualifier for the 2014 ISA China Cup)

May or June (exact dates to be confirmed)

* No longboard division as now included in ISA World Longboard Championship

ISA World Junior Surfing Championship

12 – 21 July

ISA World Longboard Championship

Northern Peru (exact location to be confirmed)

ISA World Bodyboard Championship


23 November – 1 December (exact dates to be confirmed)

As you can see, the ISA has an incredible lineup of major events over the next 18 months, and I trust that you share in my excitement for the future of our sport.  I am looking forward to seeing you at all of these ISA World Championships.  As always, please free to contact me or the ISA staff with any questions.
